WHAT IS ABA?

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis and is a science- based approach that looks at understanding how people learn and why people behave. An ABA provider might work on skills such as communication (e.g., requesting) skills, social skills (e.g., conversation skills, advocacy skills), social/ emotion regulation (e.g., problem solving, coping strategies), play skills (e.g., turn taking) and pre- academics skills (e.g., focusing on work tasks).

1:1 Services
Direct care staff provide fun and positive support to teach children ages 2-6 years old meaningful skills (e.g., communication, safety skills, daily living skills) and implement an individualized Behavior Support Plan (if applicable).
Parent Coaching
BCBA and caregivers meet with child present to practice implementation of recommendations.
Parent Consultation
BCBA and caregiver meet with or without child present to review/ rehearse implementation of strategies, review services/ data and identify any barriers.
Parent Guidance Group
BCBA and group of 2-8 families meet via telehealth to learn about
various ABA strategies
Educator Coaching
BCBA and educators meet with the child or children present, and practice implementation of recommendations.
Educator Consultation
BCBA and educators meet with the child or children not present to review/ rehearse implementation of strategies, review services/ data, review data collection methods and identify any barriers.
School Training
BCBA conducts a 45 minute, 60 minute or 90 minute presentation to teach a group of educational staff implementation of ABA strategies and data collection methods.

Note: A diagnosis of an Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is required for insurance coverage of ABA services.

If Learning with Jenn, LLC is not currently in-network with a specific insurance funder, it may be possible to explore the option of a Single Case Agreement (SCA) to obtain insurance coverage for services.
​
Private pay options are always available. For individuals with a PPO plan, a Superbill may be requested to facilitate potential reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses.

ABA Parent Guidance Group Sign up
BCBA and group of 2-8 families meet via telehealth to learn about various ABA strategies related to skill acquisition targets (e.g., expanding food variety, sleep training, toilet training) and how to navigate challenging behaviors.

To review foundational ABA strategies, the course typically runs 1 day a week for 14 weeks.
